New Orleans Tours and Things to Do

New Orleans is America's favorite city to visit, and it's no wonder why. Full of history and charm, infused with French, Spanish, Caribbean and American flavors, NOLA moves at a slower pace. It has Fun. It has Soul. And so much more...

See the City

New Orleans is a city with a "small town feel". Originally built around it's port and the original French Quarter (Viex Carré - literally, old square) the city's neighborhoods radiate outward and blend into one another. Each has its own vibe, architecture and history. Take one of our small, luxury coach City Tours and see it all as your local guide shares the history and culture of each area, pointing out famous and interesting sites , restaurants and hang-outs along the way. Do you want to go a little more in-depth? Walking Tours of the French Quarter, Garden District and St. Louis #1 Cemetery are among the most popular.

Interested in the dark deeds and hauntings of the past? Join a French Quarter Ghost Tour and stroll the narrow streets of the Quarter with a master story-teller, seeing the haunts and hearing the strange stories that still hang in the air like a foggy French Quarter night.

See the Swamps, Bayous and Cajun Country

Just outside the city, on the West Bank of the Mississippi, is the gateway to Cajun Country. Our Swamp Tours will take you not only through the swamps and bayous, but back in time as you see ancient Indian burial mounds and Cajun fishing villages. Your guides were born on the bayou and have spent many years fishing, hunting and trapping along the waterways of Bayou Barataria and will share the sights and point out animals that the untrained eye would normally miss. If you're looking for a little more adventure - and a taste of speed - join one of our two-hour Airboat Tours and go deeper into the swamps and bayous.

Go back in time: Antebellum Plantation Tours

While most southern plantations were known for producing cotton, most Louisiana plantations grew rice and sugar-cane. Still today, you'll see huge sugar tankers cruise the Mississippi River loaded with "white gold". Oak Alley and Laura Plantations are the two most famous New Orleans area plantations; you can tour just one or, for a bit more, see both on our Oak Alley and Laura Plantation Combo Tour. Another great plantation home tour is Destrehan Plantation, which you view on our Airboat and Destrehan Plantation Combo Tour.
