You'll be touring a large tract (20,000 acres) of tidewater cypress swamp. It's a dynamic ecosystem supporting many types of aquatic and moist–soil vegetation, as well as a diverse wildlife population. And you'll witness some of the most beautiful scenery around as we take you through the swamp and into the bayous lined with moss–draped cypress and tupelo–gum trees.

Watch Airboat Swamp Tour Video

During your 1 hour 45 minute – 2 hour tour you'll have opportunities to see alligators, snakes, turtles, egrets, herons and ibis, and we sometimes see hawks, owls and bald eagles.

Whether it's your first time in New Orleans, or coming back, this is our most highly recommended tour. After being picked up at your hotel in a luxury, climate-controlled mini-coach with comfortable captain's chairs, you'll pass through the streets of the French Quarter, Faubourg Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods. In the Ninth Ward you'll see the rebirth of the area most affected by Hurricane Katrina and the devastating levee failures.

You'll travel historic Esplanade Avenue under the shade of Live Oaks where you'll stop for a short cemetery tour at St. Louis #3, home to some of New Orleans' most elaborate tombs. You'll have a second stop in City Park (nearly twice as big as New York's Central Park) for refreshments, restrooms or a quick snack.

From there you'll follow the St. Charles Streetcar line and wind your way through the historic Garden District: home to such celebrities as Archie Manning (where famous quarterbacks Peyton and Eli grew up), Sandra Bullock, John Goodman, Nicolas Cage and author Anne Rice.

If you have any interest in almost 300 years of New Orleans history, culture, architecture and culinary habits, this a must–do tour. You'll have a great understanding of this special city. You'll know where you are, where to go and what it is you want to do.

My pickup time says "between 8:30AM-9AM?" Why the 30 minute window?

Coaches have to navigate throughout the Downtown?CBD (central business district) and French Quarter streets to pickup at the various hotels. Most tours have separate coaches for either area, though some tours use one coach. With the wide range of hotel stops, pedestrians and vehicle traffic it is impossible to give an exact time.

We ask for your cell phone contact number during the booking process so that the driver may get in touch with you directly, should he/she be running behind or is at your hotel and is waiting. To expedite the process, we ask our guests to be ready at the earliest pick-up time, and we certainly appreciate your understanding and patience.

Do any tours include snacks, meals or drinks?

No tours provide any snacks, drinks or meals. However, guests are always welcome to bring drinks and snacks on the coaches (please don't make a mess and dispose of your trash!) and for longer combo tours, guests are also welcome to bring their own lunches and if you advise us in the "comment" section of your order checkout, please mention that you'd like a cooler available.

During City Tours, there will be a short (approx. 20 minutes) break for guests to use the restroom or purchase snacks or drinks. At the airboat and swamp tour dock locations, there are also snacks and drinks available for purchase. On the Plantation Tours, Oak Alley has a full-restaurant as well as snack bar and several areas on the grounds for guests to purchase drinks in the warmer months. Laura Plantation offers light snacks (think chips, cookies, crackers) and drinks (water, sodas).

What is the pickup area for the tours? I don't see my hotel on the pickup list..

We've provided a handy map for you to search! The pickup area is shaded yellow.

We are only able to arrange hotel pickup in the French Quarter and Downtown/CBD area, as well as some of the Uptown area, out to approximately the 2100 block.

While not all hotels and properties are listed on our dropdown pickup menu (hotels and properties change names and owners frequently), rest assured, if you're located in the pickup area, we'll get'cha!

For those staying outside of the pickup area, we recommend quick & easy parking at the parking lot directly across from the Westin Canal Place, 100 Iberville St. Walk across the bricked street and have a seat under the awning and we'll pick you up there and drop you back. The lot is just a short walk from the French Quarter, Jackson Square and the French Market and other sights like like the riverfront park, ferry terminal and Audubon Aquarium.

By far our favorite part of New Orleans! The tour guides went above and beyond and were very knowledgeable. A great tour!! (Posted on 3/30/2017)

  3. Review by Sarah M.

A great value for two tours. Loved being able to see all the districts of New Orleans. Only suggestions would be a little less passing around of the home sale flyers on the city tour. Our city guide was a wealth of information about everything we saw- rarely stopped talking! The airboat tour was fantastic even though we happened to be on it on one of the coldest days of the year! If temperatures look low be sure to bring lots of warm clothes, a hat, gloves and even a blanket to cover you up. (They rent them for $5). Our guide Rocky was great- a true outdoorsman! Would love to come back when the gators are more active but he was able to stir up a couple! We did the 6 man boat instead of the 16 man and I enjoyed being lower to the water and having a good view in all directions. There wasn't any time between the tours to have lunch so we ended up having a bunch of junk food snacks at the airboat gift shop. I was overwhelmed by the number of companies offering tours so when I came across this site I was happy they provided us with a quality tour. (Posted on 1/17/2017)

  4. Review by Mr & Mrs Johnson

City tour 98% great. Could have cut by on the houses, got a little long on that part.
Boat tour great (Posted on 5/11/2016)

  5. Review by Prairie Chicken

Loved the tours themselves. Pickup at the hotel was seamless. City tour was first. Even though I have been to NOLA before, got to see some new places as well. Small airboat swamp tour kept 19 & 17 year old boys greatly entertained; our tour guide was awesome and very congenial.

Only thing that kept me from giving 5 star was that we were not afforded a break between city and swamp tours; a 20 minute stop for "lunch" at a cafe in the city park. Menu consisted of a bowl of $8 gumbo or etouffee and begniets. (Posted on 8/12/2014)
